SOFTWARE:

Co-author of a statistical module called subselect, which includes programs to select subsets of variables that maximize the information in a full data set, according to one of three optimality criteria (McCabe's RM; Yanai's GCD and Escoufier's RV). The optimization algorithms are of three different types: a genetic algorithm, a simulated annealing algorithm and a restricted local improvement algorithm. The subselect module is called as a package from within the R statistical software. Both are available as Free Software from the Comprehensive R Archive Network (CRAN). The source code for subselect is available here. A Table of Contents of the subselect module can be found here . A PDF mini-manual for the module can be found here.
